Reserves
Despite a vallant attempt The Cats 2`s were not able to match Wallan for the fourth time this season. Close all day but the Cats couldn`t hold on in the last quarter with Wallan kicking with a strong breeze over ran the determined Cats by three goals. Third is a good performance but everyone knows it must be all the way in 2009 to really enjoy September.
14/09/2009
A Grade Netball
A powerful win over Broadford makes way for a great clash with unbeaten Melton Centrals next Sunday at 12.30 on the Lancefield courts. The 2008 Premiers showed their class with a strong 12 point victory over the brave Broadford team. We need all spectators to rally next Sunday to Lancefield to cheer our girls on. Go Cats, back to back.
11/09/2009
Reserves
After a slow start last week against Woodend the Cats worked their way back into the game, pushed their nose in front by half time and never looked back. This week they take on Wallan in the Preliminary final at Romsey 12 noon start. Good luck to all involved
31/08/2009
A Grade Netball
A 10 point victory was reward for a very good display by the senior netballers. Another home final this Sunday at Tony Clarke.
31/08/2009
Seniors
After being in complete command of the first half and leading by 25 points at the main break, the Cats completely lost their way in the second half kicking just two points whilst Diggers Rest booted 12 goals. Unexplainable.
31/08/2009
Reserves
Just off the pace to a strong and slick Wallan going down by 15 points. The boys still have a home final this Sunday at Macedon.
U18s:
A one point thriller was enough to keep our young men alive in the finals race for 2009. Again we get a home final this Sunday. 9.45am start so don`t sleep in. Chris Preston was cool and calculated with only minutes to go sending the ball repeatedly back over the 50 meter line and marking strongly in defence. With a strong pre season the seniors have what looks like a very promising full back.
25/08/2009
U 18s
A final game loss leaves the boys fourth and fighting to stay alive in the finals this week.
25/08/2009
Seniors
A 7 point win seals third position and a re match against Diggers this week in the first elimination final
25/08/2009
Reserves
A strong win against Diggers leaves the Reserves on top for the first time in living memory.
04/08/2009
Seniors
Big Rig farewells in style. A five goal haul by James Macarthur was a fitting farewell game for the star forward. James is returning to the USA to complete his studies and the Club wishes him great success in his pursuits. An even team performance led to a compfortable 10 goal plus victory over the injury weakened Sunbury Rovers. Strong performances from Tim Dettman, Darren Goodwin, Aaron Blade and the entire backline led to the easy win.
04/08/2009
Reserves
Too much talent and a return of some senior players resulted ina one sided affair with an eventual 10 goal win. Eamon Hancock returns to the Club after a stint elsewhere and overseas, his classy left foot skills will no doubt be called upon in the senior team in weeks to come. Sean Kennedy also made a timely return while Shaun Phillips dominated from half back.
U`18: After a dissappointing two point loss the week before the young guns fought well to survive by four points. Callum Dick and George Hilary were standouts.
04/08/2009
Netball
Thirds not quite good enough
Seconds miss out
First back on the winning trail with Melissa back up front.
27/07/2009
Seniors: Cats dissappoint
A disappointing final term saw a twenty three point lead evaporate against a fast finishing Wallan. The Cats play Sunbury Rovers at home next Saturday in what will be a vital game to hold third place on the ladder.
27/07/2009
Seconds: Win goes begging
Trailing by only four points at the last change and kicking with a strong breeze the Cats allowed their opposition to control play into the breeze and kick two vital goals to hang on by 5 points. Cool heads were no present as the Cats banged the ball forward recklessly hoping for the breeze to do miracles. So often sides forget to place the ball to advantage with the wind rather than go long to the waiting opposition. It was a dissappointing finish to a good game where the Cats outplayed Wallan for much of the game.
27/07/2009
Thirds: Miss by a whisker
Only two points seperated these two top sides at the close of play. Losing midfield star George Hilary in the third took its toll as the Cats bravely tried to hold on but alas they will have to wait until the finals.
15/06/2009
Cats escape by the skin of their teeth.
A final quarter showdown where the cats managed three goals against the gale was enough to get home by one point against a very determined Rockbank. In terrible windy conditions where the Cats wasted much of the day playing the defensive wing survival of the fittesdt was the key words at three quarter time. With much better directed attacking moves in the final quarter and strong marking by MaCarthur and Flemming the Cats scraped home with the last scoring shot of the day. Best players were scarce in the scrappy play however ultimately the entire team lifted to record the eight win of the season.
15/06/2009
Too classy in shocking conditions
Keep getting better week by week. Bad luck for Hamish Haddon who took a big hit was knocked out and dislocated a shoulder. Everyone wishes Hamish a speedy recovery and a few weeks rest prior to the finals campaign.
15/06/2009
Messy but always in command
Just too much talent all over the ground eventually took its toll on the brave Rockbank team as the Cats ran away in the final term kicking with a big breeze and taking a big win in the conditions.
25/05/2009
Seniors:
The Big Rig is back !!!
A 9 goal haul by James MaCarthur was enough to allow the Cats to coast to a 76 point drubbing of battling Kilmore last Saturday
25/05/2009
Reserves:
Cats tested in windy conditions The top of the table Cats took half a game to shake off a determined Kilmore and record a 20 point victory.
